“It didn’t replace our team’s creative instinct; instead, it acted as a sounding board.”

Gianluca Lambiase is an Italian visual designer, brand designer, and marketing professional with more than a decade of experience creating visual identities, developing brand strategies, and translating complex ideas into engaging creative solutions. His career spans graphic design, packaging, web design, content creation, and digital marketing, combining strategic thinking with a strong focus on visual communication. Having worked across agencies and in-house creative teams, he brings a practical understanding of how creative processes evolve alongside new technologies.

Currently working as a Marketing Specialist at Anvest Health S.p.A. Società Benefit, Gianluca applies his background in visual design and creative production to branding, packaging, digital content, and advertising projects. Previously, he founded and served as Art Director of SoCity, a web agency focused on design and digital marketing, and held senior creative roles at The Fit Hub and other organizations. His approach to design is rooted in the belief that strong visual communication should not only look appealing but also support meaningful business objectives.

For Gianluca Lambiase, AI is most valuable when it strengthens the creative process without replacing the people behind it. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as an independent creative force, he sees it as a supportive teammate that accelerates ideation, organizes information, and reduces friction in everyday workflows. In this interview, he shares how AI is influencing creative productivity, strategic decision-making, and client relationships, while explaining why originality, empathy, and human oversight remain essential to responsible AI adoption.

Q&A

1. Which AI tools are most valuable to your team today?

Today, we are adopting AI in a targeted, gradual way, prioritizing tools that support thought organization, idea generation, and initial content framing. Rather than relying on a single platform, our greatest value comes from integrating smart assistants into our daily workflows to streamline repetitive steps. We are in the building phase, ensuring technology truly serves our unique methodology.

2. Where has AI delivered the clearest productivity gain so far?

The clearest gains are in eliminating friction and speeding up project kick-offs. AI is unbeatable at overcoming the “blank page syndrome,” summarizing large volumes of data, and structuring scattered thoughts into a coherent layout. By automating and accelerating these preliminary steps, we reclaim precious time—time we redirect toward high-level strategy, refining creative details, and nurturing real human connections.

3. Can you share one example where AI improved a workflow, campaign, or client outcome?

We saw its true potential when using AI as a co-pilot during the initial concept phase. Taking an existing core idea and watching it expand into dozens of fresh angles within seconds significantly accelerated our internal review process. It didn’t replace our team’s creative instinct; instead, it acted as a sounding board. This translated into faster turnarounds, a smoother delivery process, and a richer, more polished set of strategic directions.

4. How has AI changed the way your team approaches creative or strategic decision-making?

It changed our tempo, but not our direction. To us, AI is the ultimate teammate: much like in sports, it’s that silent support running right beside you, keeping your momentum going, speeding up the plays, and helping you cross the finish line. It never starts from scratch, nor does it make decisions for us. Its true role is to take the human touch—our vision, values, and intuition—and amplify it. It has made our decision-making more dynamic, agile, and bold.

5. How are clients responding to AI being used in your agency’s workflows and delivery process?

Clients respond very positively to transparency and efficiency. When they see AI used as a precision tool to enhance overall service quality, shorten timelines, and secure flawless execution, trust grows. They understand we aren’t delegating the soul of the work to a machine; rather, we are equipping ourselves to bring them maximum value, accuracy, and care.

6. What guardrails or best practices are most important for responsible AI use in your team?

Our primary guardrail is the “human factor.” AI is a silent teammate, but it becomes the loudest voice on the pitch when it enters the game—which is exactly why it must be steered with intention. Our core rules revolve around ethics, originality, rigorous fact-checking, and data privacy. No AI-generated output ever leaves our agency without first passing through the empathy, critical eye, and strategic oversight of a human mind.

7. Where do you see the biggest opportunity for AI in marketing agencies over the next 12 months?

The biggest opportunity lies in smart process automation that elevates both work quality and agency culture. Over the next 12 months, the agencies that win with AI won’t be the ones using it to replace people, but those using it to empower them. As AI takes over administrative routines and operational mechanics, humans gain the freedom to focus on what remains irreplaceable: strategy, genuine emotion, original creativity, and deep human empathy.

Final Thoughts

Throughout the interview, Gianluca Lambiase presents AI as a creative partner that improves efficiency without diminishing the importance of human expertise. His experience highlights how artificial intelligence can help creative teams overcome the challenges of starting new projects, explore more possibilities during ideation, and organize information more effectively. By reducing time spent on repetitive preliminary tasks, AI creates opportunities for designers and marketers to focus on the strategic and creative aspects of their work.

What stands out in Gianluca’s perspective is his emphasis on maintaining the human factor throughout the creative process. Although AI can accelerate workflows and generate new directions, it cannot replace the intuition, originality, and empathy that shape meaningful brand experiences. His approach also reinforces the importance of transparency, fact-checking, and responsible decision-making when integrating AI into professional workflows.

As AI adoption continues to grow across creative and marketing agencies, the greatest opportunity may lie in empowering people rather than replacing them. Gianluca Lambiase’s perspective suggests that the future of AI-driven creativity will depend on finding the right balance between technological efficiency and human imagination, allowing creative professionals to work more dynamically while preserving the qualities that make their work distinctive.
